"We had a tremendous day on Sunday, though it poured with rain. At Syon Park the panel is right beside the garden centre where everyone passes through at the weekends - they had even done new planting around the panel and the colours were exactly right. In the morning, there was a crowd of 160-170 at Syon, with a troop of Parliamentarian soldiers who fired volleys with their muskets, and about another 70 at Turnham Green station after lunch, where we had a more modest ceremony and then the drummer led the troops, mayors (from two boroughs because the battlefield is in both Hounslow and Ealing) and most of the crowd to the Acton Green panel where there was more posing for photos. The panels looked wonderful - all the installation was done in one day and people were already reading them and admiring them in the few days before the event.
